Weekend Pick: Wax Nostalgic @ Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club
We're lugging our record bags like it was 2003. Come out this Saturday to Jimmy Valentine's Lonely Hearts Club in DC for a night of all vinyl featuring some names that have been rocking the dance floor since a Traktor was something you only saw on a farm. We're celebrating our good friend Lovegrove's birthday, and there will be complimentary Belvedere cocktails from 9 to 11, so get there early and be ready to dance! DETAILS
Soul Mob Sunday’s in DC

The Rock and Roll Hotel was one of the first establishments to trail-blaze their way into DC's NE H Street Neighborhood, now dubbed the "Atlas District". Since those early days they have presented a consistent formula of live indie, rock and electronic acts downstairs with local DJs upstairs playing a blend of get-your-feet moving music. With a recently finished rooftop deck going up just in time for Summer, R&R was already on our short list of places to go in the District. Now, our good friend Neil Kurland of Baltimore's Soul Mob is taking over Sunday nights in the upstairs, leveraging his many travels around the globe to bring DC a sampling of some of the amazing artists that he has had the pleasure of meeting, and introducing their sounds to the District. Expect a night of truly underground house music with a focus on the dance floor!
Gourmetbeats will be in attendance this Sunday the 13th for the soft-opening featuring Philly's DJ Terreyl - Bring your Mama!
Video: ForQuarters @ PUSH
Baltimore's ForQuarters collective - DJ's J Mack and Jason Joseph - appeared at the monthly Push party this past weekend at Jimmy Valentines Lonely Hearts Club in Washington, DC. Don't miss them this week for Forward Fest, making a special appearance with The Sol Power Allstars at Eighteenth Street Lounge.
Forward Fest is a "5-day celebration of electronic creative culture" thrown in the nation's capital by event agency Eighty Eight DC. This year's festival runs from March 30th to April 3rd, and features such artists as Cut Copy, Aligning Minds, Art Department, and our very own Joe Nice performing a special set with NYC's Dave Q this Friday at The Sweet Spot.
