A lot happened this month in Gourmetbeats news…
Gourmetbeats.com turned SIX! It came so quick that we barely knew it was here. Joe Nice as always killing it on Gourmetbeats Radio.
Joe Nice tied the Knot! Sorry ladies, but dubstep’s most eligible bachelor is now off limits. Text received from Joe on the day of: “It’s a nice day for a White Wedding.”
Dubwar! Not one to let his recent nuptuals disrupt the beat, Joe traveled to NYC for the most recent installment of the legendary DUBWAR party, featuring luminaries Pinch and Maryanne Hobbs.

Some brilliant guys from Amsterdam thought it would be fun to take black and white photo’s of their favorite electronic artists. Over three-hundred musicians later, and they have released a book featuring the first 100. The photography is great, showcasing the faces behind the music that so many of us have loved so much.
The first book is available on their website HERE, and features such artists as the Detroit Grand Pubah’s, Mr. Oizo, Justice, Sebastien Tellier, and the one Joe Nice!
Check out their myspace too.

Five years ago, Tai and Joe Nice sat down at the Sky Lounge in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore and decided they were going to do something. That something was GourmetBeats.Com. One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Five days later, no one would have imagined that we’d still be going stronger then ever.
Joe mixed it up for nearly 5 hours last night in commemoration of the event. He started with his usual brand of unreleased, unheard dubstep dubplates, followed by a special baltimore club set, and finished with a set of lost dubs from the years past. If you missed it, download it!

Or if you prefer, you can download the Baltimore Club portion of the mix HERE.

A year after the premier of Gourmetbeats Radio, and things were starting to clean up a bit. (Obviously still having problems with some feedback…)
MC Twisty was a regular vocalist at Joe’s performances in ‘03 and ‘04, and this show highlights his talent nicely. He was great at the 140+ BPM flows, and when combined with Joe’s devastating bass, made for a formidable force.
Twisty joins in for the second half of the show.

We are approaching the 5 year anniversary of Gourmetbeats Radio! In celebration we’ve decided to launch a new monthly podcast, beginning today with the premier episode of Gourmetbeats Radio, originally broadcast on September 4th, 2003. Hosted by Joe Nice and featuring the downtempo stylings of Dj Tai, this first broadcast was a little rocky to say the least, but marked the beginning of something new and exciting.
